Notts Beaten By Boldmere
FA Women’s National League Division One Midlands leaders, Boldmere St. Michaels, registered a routine, 2-0 win away to seventh place Notts County on Sunday afternoon.
It was the hosts’ eleventh defeat in eighteen league games thus far; Adam Dunleavy’s charges having struggled to maintain any kind of momentum in what is a tough division.
Laura Cooper opened the scoring for the visitors just before the half hour, but were made to wait until second half stoppage time before wrapping things up, Ridhi Ruparelia with the decisive second.
Meanwhile, in the FAWNL Reserve Northern Division, Notts County Reserves picked up a valuable point when home to Doncaster Rovers Belles Reserves, the sides sharing the spoils in a 1-1 draw, the result being both sides’ first draw of the season.
In the East Midlands Women’s Regional Football League, Notts-based Premier Division dup, Mansfield Town and SJR Worksop, both have cup finals to look forward to this season.
Andi Bell’s Mansfield Town side will contest both the Nottinghamshire FA County Cup, against Notts County Reserves, and the EMWRFL League Cup final, against the winner of the Loughborough Foxes Vixens-Anstey Nomads tie which will be played later this month.
As for the Lee Scott’s SJR Worksop, they’ve reached the final of the EMWRFL League Plate final, where they’ll oppose Gainsborough Trinity at the end of the season.
Mansfield, they progressed to the League Cup final following a comfortable, 6-0 home win against Asfordby Amateurs on Sunday; goals from Ainsley Allan and Shannon Purdy had the hosts two to the good at the break, with second half goals being added by a Millie Mellors brace, Katie Platts, and an own-goal.

As for SJR, they were made to battle to a 3-2 win at home to Nottingham Trent University, whilst Gainsborough saw off hosts Brackley Town Juniors, Millee Clarke and Matilda Van Den Heuvel with their respective sides’ decisive goals.

League action was seen in the EMWRFL Division One Central and North divisions, with Basford United moving fourth in the former after registering a fifth straight league win, this time 2-1 at home to Sherwood thanks to goals from Izzy Wretham and Jess Smith, Polly Lees-Collier replying for the visitors.
As for the latter division, Yasmine Uppal’s goal came in a 1-1 draw for Arnold Eagles when away to Belper Town, and Newark Town moved up a place, to seventh, after a 4-0 home win over Cleethorpes Town.
Mansfield Town Development also reached the final of the Notts Girls & Ladies League Seniors Cup after they won 3-1 away to Arnold Eagles Development, whilst in the league, Lowdham Colts won 2-1 away to NTU Pink.
