Panthers Get Guildford

The Elite Ice Hockey League have confirmed their Challenge Cup Quarter Finals Matchups and Nottingham Panthers have been drawn against Guildford Flames in the last eight in a two leg tie that will be played in the coming weeks.

As winners of their group with the best record Guildford got the luxury of having to choose their opponents and chose Nottingham who crept through after eventually pipped Manchester Storm to finish second behind Sheffield Steelers in Group C with Flames Coach Paul Dixon stating “you know what they say, go big or go home”

He said on his reasons for choosing Panthers after reaching the final last year “along the way we put Nottingham out, it’s a rink that we play well in and we match up well against that team”

Dixon said the Flames stars voted universally to face the Panthers with confidence that they can repeat their feat of 2018 and go one better in this seasons final after losing in last seasons final against Belfast Giants during overtime.

The Panthers have slashed prices for the game to £10 adults and £5 concessions stated “This game gives us a chance to thank fans for their support so far this season and the best way to do that is to cut the admission prices so we’re making it a tenner for adults and a fiver for everyone else, regardless of location.”

Tickets will go on sale on Monday 25th November with the tie decided on an aggregate score over two legs with the winners directly through to the semi-finals.
