Stags Schedule Vale Tie
Mansfield Town have confirmed their Leasing.com EFL Trophy Second Round tie against Port Vale will be played on Tuesday 3rd December 2019 with a 7:45pm kick off at Vale Park.
The Stags qualified after beating Burton Albion last week whilst Port Vale topped a group that included Shrewsbury, Macclesfield and Newcastle United U21’s as they progressed to round two.
Tickets for the game a week on Tuesday are £10 adults and £5 concessions and will be available at the same price on matchday.
This week the Stags have already had good results after the Reserves beat Rotherham United 4-1 on Tuesday afternoon with hoals from Omari Sterling-James, Jordan Graham, Aiden Walker and Tyrese Sinclair whilst last night Mansfield Ladies beat Loughborough 4-2 at the One Call Stadium with goals for Nicki Flood, Zoe Meyrick, Chloe Elphick and Chloe Foster.
Stagettes Director of Football Alan Woodford after the game stating “We’ve been in good form so far this season, winning the majority of our games. We need to maintain this consistency because come the end of the season we want to be challenging.
“It’s always a great occasion for the Ladies to be playing at One Call Stadium. The girls always seem to thrive on the opportunity. I’m sure they’ll look forward to playing at the stadium again soon.”
The Ladies are next in action at home against Kettering on Sunday in a 3pm kick off at the RH Academy whilst the Stags first team face a tough encounter at Swindon Town with veteran striker Nicky Maynard stating earlier in the week he’s still “hungry for goals.”
The former Bristol City & West Ham striker suggested “I’m always looking to better the season before but I’m not one to put a marker on things – I wouldn’t set myself a goal because last time I did that I targeted twenty goals and ended up with four.”
On facing Swindon at the weekend he said “We’re playing a bit more freely on the road at the moment. Obviously they are doing very well at the minute and scoring a lot of goals but we still have belief we can get a result.”
“We’ve just come away from a game with a clean sheet so I’m sure the lads will have loads of confidence. We want to continue our unbeaten run. This consistency, especially going into the Christmas period, will be important for us.”
