Jersey Reds 55-12 Nottingham (RFU Championship) 24.04.21
Another defeat for Nottingham compounded more misery on a tough season so far as Jersey Reds scored a convincing win and imposed a sixth straight loss of the campaign on Neil Fowkes side.
It only took the Channel Islanders five minutes to score when Macfarlane went over to score the firsty try of the game which was converted but Nottingham shown glimpses early doors of fight, Luke Mehson going over but Dolly couldn’t convert with strong winds to level up.
After that, it was all Jersey, as Williams ran in a converted try before Owen got the first of four for him, two prior to half time to give the home side a 29-7 lead, two straiight after to extend the Reds margin further.
Luke Frost did go over for Nottingham which was converted on the hour but further tries for Dawe, Roberts and Barnes made it a real good hiding as Nottingham travelled their and back in a day, a journey that they won’t want to replicate with the same rewards anytime soon.
A tough one to take but against a side strong and at home with fans support for the first time this season. Nottingham can at least sigh with relief, that their next test is in the little known format of Saracens, who head to the Bay on Saturday.
